About Our Rescue Group:

Tangi Adopt A Rescue (TAAR) -is a small non-profit companion animal rescue and adoption service located in Kentwood, LA. We foster and place cats and dogs who have been surrendered by their owners, abandoned, or are at risk of being euthanized by the local animal shelter.

We are an all volunteer organization with no paid employees, officers, or directors. 100% of your donation goes toward food, medical and adoption costs of the animals. Your donations allow us to rescue more homeless animals and educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.

Tangi Adopt A Rescue has adopted many dogs & cats, kittens and puppies into new homes over the years. However, we can't do it alone. You can help by being a foster parent for a needy cat or dog. Foster care consists of providing a safe, loving home for a homeless pet until a permanent home can be found.

All rescued animals are housed in foster homes where temperament and habits are observed and any necessary medical care is given. Getting to know each animal helps us to make better owner-pet matches. All pets deserve permanent, loving homes!

Our Adoption Process:

Tangi Adopt A Rescue's adoption fees run about $150.00 - 300.00 for dogs and $125.00 - 200.00 for cats depending on costs incurred with the animal in foster care. All animals are spayed or neutered or, required to be spayed or neutered once adopted (This is covered in the adoption fee). All animals are vaccinated, vet checked, and de-wormed for intestinal worms if needed.

We do have a per-screening adoption application you are required to fill out and an adoption contract that you sign at adoption. We do require and make calls references.

NOTE: It costs Tangi Adopt A Rescue $125.00 -- $200.00 to cover just the basic vet costs per animal, NOT counting the cost of food, housing, cleanup, toys, sickness, ad, adoption day cost, gas to vet and adoption visits, etc...This is not CHEAP! Your help is needed to save pet lives!

Please note each animal's listing description for more detail on adoption cost and medical record.

All animals are screened for general health and temperament prior to placement for adoption. Information is gather prior to adoption from adopters so that a good match can be made between the animal and its new home.

Please Note: No guarantees or claims are made by Tangi Adopt A Rescue covering the health, temperament, or final adult size of any animal adopted.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
