Our Adoption Process:

All adoptions begin with the submission of an adoption application. Once and application had been submitted, we will contact you (normally via e-mail) with any questions, to discuss the animal you are interested in, and to set up a home visit. We will check your vet and personal references before the home visit, and if you are local, we will bring the animal with us for the home visit. If you are out of state and a home visit is conducted by another organization, other arrangements will be made to set up a meeting between you and your potential pet.

Adoption requirements for each pet vary, but as a general rule, pit bulls will only be adopted out to homes with securely fenced yards. Generally, homeowners are preferred to prevent animals from becoming displaced when renting families move. All adopters must be in an area that does not restrict pit bull ownership, and must have landlords/homeowners insurance that allows pit bull ownership. Other requirements may vary depending on the needs of the pet.

Adoption fees for dogs range between $100 and $250 and vary depending on the animal. All dogs will come fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Vaccinations, spay/neuter , and microchip are all REQUIRED and are non-negotiable. All adopters will sign an adoption contract outlining the expectations for adopted dogs. Adoption contracts are available for review at any time during the adoption process.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
