Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

SEBR pulls bloodhounds from shelters in all seven southeastern states. We do not have a shelter facility. Instead, our fostered hounds are kept in private homes in all 7 states.

About Our Rescue Group:

All of the volunteers with Southeast Bloodhound Rescue are dedicated to helping endangered bloodhounds throughout the southeastern US. We are an all volunteer organization. We open our hearts and homes to these bloodhounds and work to help them learn to be good family companions before placing them in 'forever homes'. Each volunteer has a love of the breed that goes beyond mere fancy.

Come Meet our Pets:

Adoptions are completed via contact with individual foster families once an applicant has been approved to adopt. Transportation options are also available for families outside the southeastern region wishing to adopt a bloodhound from SEBR

Our Adoption Process:

If you are interested in adopting, we do require the submission of an adoption application, which can found under the FORMS link on our web site. Once the application is processed, SEBR volunteers will help you find a 'perfect match' for your home and family. Adoption fees range from $75 to $250, depending on the bloodhound. We do require an adoption contract be signed in order to protect our bloodhounds for life. A securely fenced yard is a requirement if you are interested in a young bloodhound. Exceptions are made for those who are mature and less active.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
