Dog adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog and you'll have a friend for life!

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: During our 7 years of operation, we've been contacted three times to assist with placement of a CT pup / dog in need. All three times, we were glad to assist after it was determined that the dog/pup was a candidate for our program. (i.e. no aggression or emotional issues) Because we don't get many requests to assist with CT pups/dogs, the pups/dogs posted on our website have all come from high kill shelters in TN, AR, MS, LA and TX. Via Road Dogs Transport (www.roaddogstransport.com), they are transported to our Southbury Adoption Center or directly to their new families when all of their vet work is complete. One of our previous adopters, and also the owner of Big Apple Pet Supply, did a You Tube video for us. It is a very informative video and will help you prepare for the big day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2-bLT6Pw1w&feature=youtu.be

About Our Rescue Group
CPR was formed in 2004 to assist unwanted pups and dogs with finding a new home. We rescue our pups from high kill shelters in TN, AR, MS, LA and TX. Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers of these shelters and without the assistance of CPR, the pups posted on our website would not be rescued. Before partnering with CPR, these shelters had euthanasia rates of 95%. We've reduced the euthanasia rate in all shelters by at least 50%. We rescue and rehome 200+ pups and dogs each month. We accomplish this task with the help of an awesome hard working and dedicated staff and volunteer base. Also helping us to accomplish what seems at times to be a thankless and overwhelming job is our pure and selfless love of dogs! We truly believe that rescue + rehoming = true love. <3
Come Meet our Pets
Upon approval of your application, we'd love to have you visit with some of our awesome rescue pups at our adoption center in Southbury. Because it's a private facility, we only set appointments with approved applicants. You'll also find us the 2nd Saturday of every month at Petco in Southington. Please visit our website at www.cprdogs.com and check out our event calendar for upcoming events.
Our Adoption Process
Please visit our website at www.cprdogs.com for our online application. Upon approval, one of our hard working adoption counselors will be in touch and help you finalize the adoption of your new family member. The adoption contract is also found on our website. While it's not necessary to sign the contract until you are ready to finalize the adoption, you may want to look over it just to make sure you are agreeable to all our requirements. Our adoption fees cover all of the pre-adoption vet work and transportation costs.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
