Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:
We serve anyone who lives in the state of Florida. We rescue and adopt mostly small dogs under 15 pounds. However, we are also willing to rescue small animals and birds.
About Our
Rescue
Group:
Compassionate Canines is a Florida non-profit small dog rescue. We rescue dogs under 15 pounds, pay their vet bills, ensure they are spayed and neutered, have all their shots and become socialized with other dogs and people. Rescue dogs have generally been abused and neglected and, most often, abandoned. There are no guarantees on the personalities of the animals we rescue. We have an application and contract process. We also rescue small animals, reptiles and birds, when needed. We do adoptions in the state of Florida. We want to reduce the number of animals that are put down in shelters and abandoned by owners with no future home. We love all our animals and work hard to ensure that they are a good match for their forever homes.
Come Meet our Pets:
We are a part time animal rescue. You can look at our pets and inquire about an application for adoption. We do not go to pet stores to allow people to adopt our pets at those locations. We use word of mouth, online adoption resources and marketing tools. We hope you will find us online and email us. We can also help you find a pet that is right for you - either by looking to rescue this animal or referring you to another rescue that might have the breed of dog or cat you are looking to bring home.
Our Adoption Process:
You must fill out a rescue application to be considered for adoption. You must live in the state of Florida. You must be willing to have a home check and a vet reference check. In some cases, you must have a fenced in yard and, if necessary, a fenced in pool. If you are chosen to adopt the pet that you have applied to take home, you must sign an adoption agreement and pay an adoption fee. You must agree to return the animal to Compassionate Canines if there is a problem at any time whatsoever.
