About Our Rescue Group:

Fur-Ever Family's Mission is to restore hope and dignity to these loving animals for whom no one else cares about and to help them find their forever homes; to provide a safe and loving environment for stray or abandoned felines in Lawrence County, responding with personal commitment, humane sensitivity, compassion and medical support to the needs of these animals; to be an all volunteer organization that provides financial assistance for the spaying and neutering of cats to ensure the numbers of unwanted felines be kept to a minimum, to provide the best home we can for the cats in our care and to reduce the number of felines that suffer the fate of abuse, abandonment or extinction; and to actively promote suitable adoption of our cats by matching the personality and needs of each animal to the adoptive parents.

Our Adoption Process:

Fur-Ever Family is a no-kill shelter. Our kitties' living area is a home-like environment with windows, cat-friendly furniture, and toys. Our cats and kittens are not caged, but are allowed to socialize so that we may evaluate their personalities-- assessing how they play, eat, even sleep.

We believe every cat or kitten has a unique personality and disposition. Fur-Ever Family matches each one to the temperment and lifestyle of its adoptive family. The goal is to place our kitties where they will thrive, as well as to provide you with a companion which fits well into your family. In most adoptions, we ask for a $75 donation.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
