About Our Shelter:

Animal Control of West Florida is a privately owner shelter contracting with numerous cities & counties to provide shelter services. The personal mission of a very carefully selected staff is to place as many of the pets who come through our shelter into homes as we can, simply because we love our animals.

Come Meet our Pets:

Business hours are 9:00 AM until 12:00 Mon-Sat. However, I happily make after hours appointments whenever needed in order to facilitate finding homes for our pets. You may contact Belva (director) at 850-557-2342 between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. PLEASE DO NOT CALL AFTER THOSE HOURS AS THIS IS A PERSONAL NUMBER.

This is a kill shelter and the animals are kept only 5-7 days so please email or call ASAP if interested in any of these pets.
The shelter is located 2 miles west of Washington County line on Hwy 90.

Our Adoption Process:

Select pet,complete Adopt.Application,pay fee ($125.00)

We have the animal spayed/neut/vacc/dewormed & new owner picks pet up afterward. Dogs will also be checked for heartworms and cats will be tested for feline/luek.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
