Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are located in Tampa, Florida - Hillsborough County.

About Our Rescue Group:

My name is Cynthia Flowers and I have been rescuing felines for 12 years. I am appalled at the number of unwanted animals that are euthanized in Hillsborough County each year - over 3000. I want to make a difference in the cat population - that is why any cat that gets adopted out by Kitty City rescue Foundation is spayed or neutered. My volunteer staff feels the same way and we all work hard to ensure thatour work is not in vain.

Come Meet our Pets:

We have cats and kittens at different times throughout the year. We receive our felines from people who call us saying they found a kitten(s). They have to be medically checked out and an appropriate age before we can adopt them out. They stay with foster Moms until that time. Then they are brought into our location which is primarily a cat boarding facility - Kitty City at 5321 Gunn Hey. in Tampa Florida. The 2 are totally different entities. We also have adoption events at PetsMart. We work strictly by appointments.

Our Adoption Process:

After we rescue cats/kittens we get them tested for aids/leukemia - if they test negative we give them the appropriate medical care, spay/neuter, microchip and find them approved Forever Homes. We have foster homes for the kittens who do not have Moms where they stay until they are old enough to be adopted. We are 501c3 and work soley on donations. There is no fee for our adoptions. We always find homes for our felines. We make sure they will be indoors only.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
