We do not limit adoptions to Pitt County. If you are willing to drive here we will consider you for adoption.
However we can only take in pets from Pitt County.

About Our Shelter:

We are a part of Pitt County Government and have to house all of the unwanted animals in Pitt County.
Our adoption hours are from 1-5:30 pm Monday-Friday and on Saturdays from 11-12:30 pm

Most Saturdays dogs are taken to the local Petsmart store for adoption from 12-5 pm

Our Adoption Process:

Puppies under 4 months of age are $75 and includes spay/neuter
Dogs over 4 months of age are $85 and includes spay/neuter and 1 year rabies shot

Kittens under 4 months are $50 and includes spay/neuter

Cats over 4 months are $60 and includes spay/neuter and 1 year rabies shot

You must be at least 18 years old to adopt.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
