Dogwood Sheltie Rescue Inc.(DSR) provides through rescue, for the welfare of Shetland Sheepdogs or herding breed-related and mix bred dogs that

are surrendered, abandoned, lost, or abused. The organization provides rehabilitation, spay or neuter, treatment of medical needs, and placement

into suitable, loving homes. As part of its mission, DSR actively seeks

to cooperate nationwide with other

rescue organizations, animal shelters, humane societies,

and with individuals having like interests and to

educate and offer guidance to the public about responsible dog ownership

Come Meet our Pets:

Our dogs are in foster homes. You are invited to come meet them with you other dogs once approved.

Our Adoption Process:

Donation fee of $300.00 per dog

Applicants must fill out an adoption application found on our web site. A phone interview, home visit, vet references, and personal references are required.

Matching of dogs are done with the dog in mind and which home would suit them best in order for them to thrive and love life.

We have an active family group we invite you to join to share and educate more about our specific breed.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
