Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We serve all of Southern California's high desert communities. Apple Valley, Victorville, Hesperia, Phelan, Wrightwood, Barstow, Lucerne Valley.

About Our Rescue Group:

OUR HISTORY
PAL was formed in October 1993 by a small group of people who were concerned about the well being of the unwanted animals of the Victor Valley. On February 4, 1994 the State of California and the Federal Government granted PAL their non-profit status.

OUR MISSION:

PAL Humane Society is dedicated to:
-The prevention of cruelty to animals by
any reasonable means;
-Reducing the severe pet overpopulation
in our local community through
education and the spaying & neutering
of companion animals;
-Instilling respect for and appreciation
of all living things.

OUR PROGRAMS:

EDUCATION PROGRAM
PAL takes our “be kind to animals” information into schools, chambers, Rotary meetings, Kiwanis meetings, Libraries, etc. Our program is both educational and fun, using stories, pets, and games to teach children and adults to be responsible pet owners.

PET CONNECTION PROGRAM
-PAL helps senior citizens’ dogs and cats by providing food (free of charge) each month. Target stores and individual donors donate the food and goodies to our facility. PAL delivers to the pets on our program using volunteers as delivery drivers, and the animals are always assured of something good to eat.

-Herdina Grant for Senior Citizens
PAL receives a yearly $15,000 grant to help qualified seniors 65 and over with spay/neuter and vet care for their pets. We have 6 veterinarians working with the program at this time.

-Spay/Neuter Vouchers
We provide vouchers to help pet owners get their pets spayed or neutered. Please call for more information (760) 249-1237.

CANS FOR CRITTERS
PAL is part of the City of Victorville’s Business-Community Recycling Partnership Program. We pick up cans and bottles from businesses and turn them in for cash. We also accept cans, plastic bottles, and glass bottles from the public. The funds raised through this program goes directly to helping the animals.

OUR SERVICES:

Placement Assistance - Since we no longer have a shelter in which to house animals, we provide assistance to individuals needing to place an animal by posting a private adoption ad online.

Our Adoption Process:

The pets listed are available for adoption through private parties. Please read the listings for the contact informatin. With our recent move to Wrightwood, CA we are not taking in animals as we no longer have a shelter in which to house them. We provide assistance to individuals needing to place an animal by posting a private adoption ad for them to help get their pet placed. PAL is not responsible for the listed pets nor their adoptions in any way.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
