Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are based out of Charleston County but pull animals from high kill shelters all over South Carolina. We do not accept owner surrenders.

About Our Rescue Group:

Leash On Life Dog Rescue is a group of dedicated animal lovers who volunteer their time to help the otherwise helpless animals in our area. We are a strictly foster based rescue and all animals are kept in private foster homes until adopted. Please contact us today to meet any one of our adoptable animals!

Our Adoption Process:

Just a few *rules* but we try to keep it as simple as possible... All of our animals will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We will ask for landlord and vet references to make sure your new pet is welcome as well as taken care of. If you cannot provide a vet reference, a home visit will be required. If you currently have a resident pet, we ask that the new pet meets your current pet before we finalize your adoption. If you live outside of the Charleston area, you must come to Charleston to meet and adopt your new pet. We do not ship or transport our animals. Adoption fees vary by animal and are listed in each individual posting. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us! Thanks for looking to adopt a rescue animal :)

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
