Selma Animal Shelter
About Our Shelter
The Selma Animal Shelter is run by the City of Selma Police Department. Because of budget constraints the shelter does not have regular hours of operation. There is a dedicated group of volunteers who work to get every dog that comes through the shelter doors adopted, into a rescue, or into a foster. Our goal is that no dog be left behind and each dog find a home where they will know what true loves means.

We are in desperate need of funds for our spay and neuter program, animal care, and building fund. We are always in need of volunteers who are interested in helping at the shelter or at our mobile adoption events.

If you are interested in volunteering or fostering, please send us an email at: volunteers@selmaanimalpack.org.

Come Meet our Pets
The shelter is not open to the public. If you see a pet that you are interested in adopting, please send an email to adoptions@selmaanimalpack.org and we will arrange a date and time for you to come and meet the animal.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
