Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We are a nonprofit, no kill rescue organization that relies strictly on public donations and our volunteers to help save the lives of abandoned animals. We spay/neuter, vaccinate and foster animals until they are adopted. Making sure we save animals so they can find their forever homes is a top priority. PURRR Rescue is based out of Lakewood, Washington. Families from all over the area come to our events to find their new furry friend.

About Our Rescue Group:

We have been around for 20 years, we are trying to save animals from unnecessary euthanization do to over population. We help with cost of spay and neuter. Our animals are placed in temporary foster homes until we can put them in permanent homes; this gives us the ability to hold onto them longer than the standard time at a shelter. PURRR Rescue goes through PetSmart Charities adoption program so all of our animals are shown at the Lakewood PetSmart. We have cats there 7 days a week at the adoption center, and we bring in dogs and rabbits on the weekends.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations can be made by mail to our PO Box, in person at the Lakewood PetSmart or by PayPal on our website under Contact Us. We greatly appreciate all and any donations made to PURRR Rescue. Every penny goes to help save the animals and help us properly care for them.

Come Meet our Pets:

We do adoptions at the Lakewood PetSmart every weekend, located in the Lakewood Towne Center. You can view the cats there 7 days a week.
We are PHYSICALLY there on Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 6pm. This is when we bring in our adoptable dogs and rabbits.

We participate in every National Adoption Weekend hosted by PetSmart Charities.

Our Adoption Process:

If you are interested in one of our available animals, please email us at purrrescue@yahoo.com. There is an adoption fee for all of our animals Included in the fee, each dog goes with 6 weeks of training, a bed, leash, harness, collar, food, and all vaccinations for the first year. Our adoption process includes a number of steps. You must fill out an adoption application before you can adopted from us. You must pass a screening process to make sure the animal fits your needs and is a good match for the animal and new owner. From their we have an adoption agreement for the pet parent to make sure they're ready to commit to accepting a new pet into their lives. If an animal has any restriction, such as no small animals, we release that information to the you so you will know if the animal is right for you.

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
