Safe Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit "no kill" shelter.

Our mission is to provide a temporary safe haven for lost, abandoned, mistreated and unwanted cats and dogs until they are adopted into permanent homes, and to advocate spay & neuter as the only means to reduce pet overpopulation.

All adoptable animals are available for viewing on our website. If you see them on our adoptables page they are in the shelter at that moment, but could have a pending application on them. Our shelter is open to the public on Monday-Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11:00am until 5:00p.

As of 6/1/09 we will be open Monday -Wednesday & Friday-Saturday 11am to 5pm & closed on Thursday & Sunday.

Application Process - must be completed at shelter. Is reviewed in 2-3 working days. All adoptions include spay or neuter, all shots current for animal's age, and microchip for dogs. Adoption fee is $100 for Dogs and $85 for Cats. Fees are reduced for some multiple animal adoptions, long term residents and special needs animals. We do take more than one application on an animal in which case the adopter will be chosen based on what we feel is the best home for that animal. See our website for additional information.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
