Coastal Animal Rescue
About Our Rescue Group
CAR started out by just housing a few abandoned animlas. At the time they were given food, shelter & medical attention. Some were kept as pets, others were adopted out. Word spread & of course the shelter now has over 200 cats who need constant care along with 7 dogs.
David is a certified CPA with a heart of gold. He is an avid animal lover & does everything in his power to make it work. He has no outside benefactor, everything is out of pocket.
He is very fortunate to have terrific volunteers who truly care about the animals.
His goal is eventually to have a low cost spay/neuter clinic so everyone can afford to have their pet fixed for a reasonable fee.
Come Meet our Pets
CAR has a great opportunity to adopt out cats at the local Pet Smart every 6 weeks.
If people see an animal they may be interested in on Pet Finder.com they can call at any time to make an appointment to come meet the cat in person.
Word of mouth also has helped adopt out a few animals.
There is a Neighbors section in our local paper the Sun News. Every Thursday one of the shelter's cat or dogs' picture appears with info about the animal.
There also is a Saturday Swap section with CAR's wish list & contact info.
Advertising Unlimited prints a small ad with info & a wish list.
Our Adoption Process
Fees for both cats & dogs are $75.. All animals are neutered/spayed, tested & have all their shots.
A contract is mandatory. If a renter is adopting one of the animals, permission from the landlord is needed. A vet check also is required. There are a few more questions that we hope will all be answered honestly.
Cats are to always remain indoors & dogs are not to be left outside on a chain. The animals have already experienced enough damage.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
