Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Paws of Tomorrow, Inc. is a non-profit company based out of Ocean View, Delaware. We serve areas like WV, MD, NJ, DE, NY, PA, and VA locally, however, we can deliver dogs to anywhere from GA to VT.

About Our Rescue Group:

We strive to give dogs the life they have not yet known. Our rescue pulls dogs from high kill gassing shelters in NC, DE, OH, WV, VA, and GA; as well as helping local injured and abandoned dogs. Give us your toss always and we will help change lives. Not only will this be helping the dogs but if offers dogs to people who really need a companion. We accept donations to offset the costs of rescuing these special beings. We would prefer to offer homes to anyone with a big heart. Although at times our adoption fee must be raised when donations are low. We can only pull dogs if we have the funding to do so. It would be irresponsible of us to pull an animal if we could not offer proper medical care. So please rest assured that your donations are going to help save these dogs.

Most people are unaware of what really goes on in shelters across the United States. Our goal is to raise this awareness. Many shelters are high kill shelters. Mostly due to lack of financing, lack of volunteer, and lack of space. A large percentage of these shelters are gassing shelters. This means that they are placed in a gas chamber to be euthanized. This caused these dogs extreme pain. Remember, we cannot save them all, but we're saving one life at a time. This information can be very heart wrenching and hard to deal with. Anything you do to help whether it be spread the word, donate, foster, or adopt; is helping save one life at a time. Everything you do matters much more than you see. We are able to help because of people like you.

We do NOT have a shelter, therefore, we do not have a place where you can meet the dogs. All dogs are adopted directly from shelter or are placed in forever homes or foster homes.

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS..........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice, when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy, or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or, my heart might be getting old, or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~ Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

~ Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters

~ We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

Consider the following (WARNING - Graphic Material):

CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING THROWN INTO A HUGE METAL BOX WITH A HALF DOZEN OF OTHER FOLKS, JUST THROWN IN ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER AND HAVING THE LID CLOSED. IN TOTAL DARKNESS YOU'RE SCARED AND YOU CAN HEAR THE WHIMPERING AND CRYING OUT OF THE OTHERS IN THE BOX. "WHAT IS GOING ON?, WHY ARE WE IN HERE?". THEN YOU ALL START TO COUGH AND CHOKE, THERE IS NO AIR TO BREATHE, YOUR LUNGS FEEL LIKE THEY WILL BURST ANY SECOND. YOUR EYES AND NOSE ARE RUNNING AND YOU LOSE CONTROL OF ALL BODILY FUNCTIONS. THE STENCH IS UNBEARABLE AND THE SCREAMS AND CRIES ARE EAR SHATTERING. THEN IT STARTS TO GET QUIET, ONE BY ONE THE OTHERS STOP THEIR WIMPERING AND THOUGH DISORIENTED AND UNABLE TO MOVE YOU TRY TO MAKE SENSE OF WHAT IS GOING ON.....AND THEN THERE IS LIGHT, THE LID COMES UP AND HOPE RISES THAT WHATEVER HAPPENED IS ALL OVER AND IT'S TIME TO GET OUT OF HERE. BEFORE YOU CAN GET ORIENTED AND FIGURE OUT WHAT TOOK PLACE, ANOTHER SIX SQUIRMING AND WHIMPERING LIVE BODIES ARE TOSSED INTO THE BOX ON TOP OF YOU, THE LID CLOSES AGAIN AND THE HORROR CONTINUES. YOU'RE BARELY CONSCIOUS AND LOSE TRACK OF HOW MANY TIMES THIS PROCEDURE WAS PERFORMED BEFORE YOU FIND YOURSELF OUT IN THE LIGHT BEING STUFFED IN A HUGE PLASTIC BAG AND DISPOSED OF AT THE DUMP. YOU'RE TRYING TO MAKE NOISE, PLEADING THAT SOMEONE WILL REALIZE THAT YOU ARE STILL ALIVE BUT YOU CAN'T.
YOU'RE TOO WEAK AND SUFFER NEUROLOGICAL DAMAGE FROM THE GAS.
EVENTUALLY YOU DIE, SUFFERING TERRIBLY AMIDST A PILE OF DEAD BODIES.....AND YOUR LAST THOUGHT IS WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS?
THE ANSWER IS NOTHING..........YOU DID NOTHING WRONG. YOU'RE PAYING FOR THE SELFISHNESS AND IRRESPONIBILITY OR HUMANS.
EVERY YEAR COUNTLESS INNOCENT ANIMALS ARE PUT DOWN IN THIS CRUEL MANNER AND THEY SUFFER UNBELIEVABLE TORTURE.....THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE LAWS.
AN ARMY VETERAN RECALLS, "I HAVE BEEN THROUGH A GAS CHAMBER ON A DOZEN DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. AS REGULAR TRAINING WE WERE REQUIRED TO STAY IN THE CHAMBER LONG ENOUGH TO SAY OUR NAME, RANK AND SERIAL NUMBER.........A TOTAL OF ABOUT 5 SECONDS. WE CAME OUT OF THAT CHAMBER VOMITTING, EVERY ORIFICE SPEWING FLUIDS. OUR SKIN, EVERY PORE IN OUR BODY BURNED. EVERY ONE OF US GAGGED AND CHOKED AND THOUGHT WE WOULD DIE......THE EFFECTS OF THIS LASTED FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE FOREVER, AND WE THOUGHT THE SUFFERING WOULD NEVER STOP. THIS WAS 5 SECONDS AND WAS UNBEARABLE....THE GAS CHAMBER WAS MY BIGGEST FEAR WHILE SERVING MY COUNTRY."
THE ANIMALS DON'T ALWAYS DIE FROM THE GAS, WE KNOW OF SEVERAL CASES WHERE PEOPLE HAVE FOUND LIVE DOGS IN THE BAGS AT THE DUMP. THESE DOGS ARE ALWAYS PERMANENTLY DISABLED FROM THE EFFECTS OF THE GAS. ALL ANIMALS DESERVE MORE THAN THIS AND WE AS CARETAKERS OWE THEM MORE.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
