All of TN and parts of AL, GA and KY.

About Our Rescue Group:

Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue is located in Brentwood, Tennessee - about ten miles south of Nashville. MTBR has been rescuing and placing boxers since approximately 1990.

We are the only boxer rescue in the State, although there are other all-breed rescues that take in boxers. We also take in some dogs from, and adopt some dogs into, AL, GA and KY.

We regret that we are unable to take boxer mixes any longer, as we do not even have space for all the purebred boxers in kill shelters in TN. MTBR took in over 200 boxers in 2013, and expect to take in even more in 2014.

Contributions are welcome, and are tax deductible.

Come Meet our Pets:

We have Meet and Greets with some frequency. Please contact rescue for details and locations of the next ones.

You may also check our Facebook page for upcoming events.

Our Adoption Process:

Adoption application must be completed and can be found at www.mtbr.org. Average adoption fee is $250.00 (seniors, mixes less; puppies more). All dogs must be inside dogs. Homes must have a fenced yard.

We require a home visit prior to adoption. Adopters are required to sign a contract agreeing that the dog be returned to us if the adopter can no longer keep the dog.

All visits with adoptable dogs are by appointment only, after we receive an application from the potential adopter.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
