| We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We are based in Birmingham, Alabama, and we also have a foster home in the Huntsville, Alabama area. We do approve out of area adoptions if the adopter is willing to drive to the foster home to "fetch" the new baby. |
Little Bits Rescue & Adoption
About Our Rescue Group
Our mission is to rescue toy breed dogs (purebred and mixed) from local shelters or from owners wishing to surrender dogs. We provide all necessary vet care, including spay/neuter and vaccinations. We then place the dogs in new homes after an extensive screening process.
Come Meet our Pets
We do not have a shelter. All our dogs are housed in our personal homes. For this reason, we do not arrange meetings until we have received a completed application.
Our Adoption Process
The first step in our adoption process is an application. We also do reference checks, a personal phone interview with the applicant, and a home visit. Our adoptions require a legally binding contract. Our fees vary from dog to dog, but the average is $200.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
