Pet Savers
About Our Shelter
Pet Savers is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to rescue, protect, and place abandoned or unwanted pets and provide funds for neutering, spaying, and other veterinary care.
Our mission is to educate pet owners and potential pet owners on the importance of spaying/neutering, heartworm prevention, and responsible care of dogs and cats.
Come Meet our Pets
Everyday is adoption day at Pet Savers! We are open 365 days a year.
Our shelter is located at 4380 Noyes Drive, Shreveport, La. Directions: From I-20, take the Pines Road exit... head north... (turn right if heading west on I-20, and left if heading east). Take right on Greenwood Road. Follow Greenwood Road for approximately 1 m ile to Noyes Drive... turn left. Follow Noyes Drive to the end and you will find our shelter.
Our hours are Monday-Saturday 12pm-4:30pm... and Sunday 1pm-4pm. We may close early on certain holidays.
Our Adoption Process
Our adoption fee is $60. The adoption fee recoups our spay/neuter fee for the adult animals. For puppies and kittens, you will receive a voucher to have your puppy/kitten spayed/neutered once he/she becomes of age.
We screen all prospective adopters, to include veterinarian references, on-site interviews, etc.
No Pet Savers animals will be adopted to irresponsible pet owners. Heartworm preventative, annual vaccinations, and spaying and neutering are just some of the qualities of a responsible pet owner.
If you are a responsible pet owner and can prove to us that you are, we welcome you!
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
