We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We rescue from the city of Richmond and surrounding counties and from rural areas in Virginia. We do rescue some breeds from further distances. We are not breed specific. We rescue pure bred dogs and mixes of various sizes and do work with a lot of special needs cases including extreme medical conditions and puppy mill rescues.
ADRATI K9 Rescue
About Our Rescue Group
We provide love, medical attention, and transportation along the way to a new family. We are a small rescue group who is run solely by volunteers. We have a rescue house and several foster homes so we can take the dogs in and crate train, house train, allow time for healing physically, mentally, and emotionally for the dogs. We work a lot with socialization and take the dogs to doggy daycare, have them groomed, all that we can do to help them become a loving family member. We do this for them because they do so much for us.
Come Meet our Pets
We hold adoption stands on Saturdays or Sundays from 1:30 until 3:30 each month. Our schedule is posted on our website at www.adrati.com and in the local newspaper and under events at our Petfinder site.
The location for the stands is: Pouncey Tract Veterinary Hospital 5450 Pouncey Tract Road Glen Allen, VA 23060
We also attend special functions all year round in the Richmond area.
Our Adoption Process
We do require an application, vet reference, home visit, and foster process before any dog is permanently placed in a home. A fee scale from $75 to $350 is required based on breed, age, and medical treatment of the rescued dog. We only adopt within a two hour radius of the Richmond, VA area.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
