The Guelph Humane Society has the largest selection of pets in the Wellington County area. We re-home unwanted animals, provide medical assistance to those animals in need and investigate cruelty cases. We assist all kinds of animals including many farm animals. Foster families and farms are always in need.

Our mission is to promote the welfare of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.

Come Meet our Pets:

The Guelph Humane is located at 500 Wellington St. West. We are in the shadow of the water treatment plant.
We are open for adoptions Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Our Adoption Process:

All adoptions will require an application and a separate interview.
Cats or Kittens — $229.56 (includes 20.26 in taxes)
This fee includes over $350 in services which include:
- spay or neuter
- 1st Vaccinations
- deworming
- cardboard carrier
- collar and tag
- bath
- microchip identification implant
- applicable taxes
- rabies vaccine for all pets 4 months of age or older
- 6 weeks of Pet Secure pet insurance

Dogs or Puppies —$274.80 (includes 22.50 in taxes)
This fee includes over $400 in services which include:
- spay or neuter
- 1st Vaccinations
- deworming
- bath
- microchip identification implant
- applicable taxes
- rabies vaccine for all pets 4 months of age or older
- 6 weeks of Pet Secure pet insurance

Lovebirds, Cockatiels, Budgies, Finches, Canaries, Doves —$16.20 ($15.00 + 1.20 PST)

Rabbits and Guinea Pigs —$16.20 ($15.00 + 1.20 PST)
Hamsters, Mice, Gerbils, Rats, Degus —$5.40 ($5.00 + 0.40 PST)

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
