We serve the state of Florida primarily, but do not rule out other states. All adopters must come here to adopt - we do not ship or transport dogs to adopters.

This is the process to adopt a pet from Almost Home Rescue:
1. Fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION to submit all the info we need to approve you for adopting one of our pets.
2. Someone will call or contact you via email to set up a home visit.
3. A volunteer will come to your home, at your convenience, to verify the safety of your fence, and whether or not it is the correct home for a terrier.
4. After approval we will set a time to meet and if there is a match between the dog and the adopter, the adoption contract will be signed and the fee paid to the rescue to help pay the vet bills.

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
