Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We only serve the city of Monrovia because we are part of the Police Department.

About Our Shelter:

We are Monrovia Animal Control. We work out of the Police Department in Monrovia. We started up our Animal Control about 2 years ago. Our Animal Control Officers do this job to make a difference in the way people view animals and hopefully treat them a little better. There are other reasons, but our main goal is to keep animals safe and out of harms way.

Come Meet our Pets:

We don't always have animals up for adoption, however, we are contracted with Inland Valley Humane Society where we take most of our animals. Our facility can only house a small number of animals, so we only keep the highly adoptable pets at the station to find homes. The others must go to the Humane Society. We encourage everyone who views our site to visit Inland Valley Humane Society as well since most of our animals go there. If you see an animal on this site, it means they are already up for adoption so people are allowed to come down to view them. We are located inside the Monrovia Police Station. The Animal Control Department is open Mon-Sat 7am-7pm. We are currently trying to get a spot at the Farmer's Market in town on Fridays, but please call us to find out if we will have a booth. Sometimes we don't have animals to show.

Our Adoption Process:

The fees for dogs are $135.00
Fees for cats are $110.00

Applications for adoption must be filled out. We would prefer if the adoptor lived in Monrovia so we could check up on the pet, however, we would just be happy finding these animals a good home. Adoption Fee's cover spay/neuter, rabies vaccitation, canine distemper, bordetella and feline rhinotrachetis. Micro chip is also available for a extra charge of $20.00.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
