| We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We place unwanted, abandoned and/or abused pet pigs originating from within all cities in Clark County, in the State of Nevada. We will match and transport any pet pig from Clark County to a good home anywhere in the continental United States thanks to a network of pig rescue and placement organizations we are networked with. We also provide free education and guidance to all pig owners and potential pig owner to insure our pigpets have the best possible chance at a long, healthy, happy life! |
VEGASPIGPETS
About Our Rescue Group
VEGASPIGPETS is both a State and Federal 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization approved in December, 2008. We are a 100% volunteer organization of people supporting the health and welfare of all pigpets, large and small. We formed our organization in April of 2008 when the pig population became too much for our local shelters and immediate intervention was needed due to high foreclosures and economic circumstances were too taxing on our shelters here. We also provide education, placement and support to all current and prospective pig owners to assure the best quality of life for our pigpets! All donations are graciously accepted and be assured that all your donations go directly to medical costs associated with abandoned and abused pigpets! Thank you for your interest in saving an animal's life!
Come Meet our Pets
Our pigpets needing homes are introduced to potential adoptors on a case-by-case basis as we try to match the pigpet to the potential adopter. We are always looking for volunteers and/or foster homes also.
Our Adoption Process
Our adoption fees are are between $100 - $150 to offset the spay/neuter/vet costs for that particular pig being adopted. By no means does this fee cover all of our costs but we feel you must have a vested interest in adopting a pig. We require an application/phone interview and home check and if you are out of state, a person from within our pig placement network will do the home check without charge and help & guide you in setting up an appropriate home for your potential new pet pig. Before adoption, if we feel you need more information and/or education is needed before adopting, we will send you a free potential pig owners packet.
farm-type animals can make wonderful pets, and rather than buying a farm-type animal for sale or finding a farm-type animal breeder, adopting a farm-type animal from
an animal shelter or rescue organization is the perfect way to add a farm-type animal to your family.
Keep in mind, there is a lot you will need to know when you provide a home for
a farm-type animal. You will need to learn what to feed them, how much exercise or
attention your farm-type animal needs, and many other important things about how to
house and care for a farm-type animal. There are different types of farm-type animals
including Alpaca, Cow or Bull, Goat, Llama, Pig (Farm), Pig (Potbellied), and Sheep.
