About Our Shelter:

The Humane Society of Wickenburg ("HSW") strives to provide exceptional care for dogs and cats that are surrendered, abandoned or abused. Through formal and comprehensive adoption policies, educational humane programs and events designed to increase awareness, compassion and responsible pet ownership, the Humane Society's mission is to place every adoptable animal in a permanent, well-educated home. Through the dedication of our volunteers and staff, we are able to provide exceptional care, nurturing and development to our shelter animals. With this mission, we are able to ensure that our animals will go to the best possible Fur-Ever home.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are located at 4000 Industrial Road Wickenburg, Az 85390.

Our Adoption Process:

To help ensure you adopt a pet that is a good fit for your home, we require you to schedule an appointment where you can visit the animal of your choice and fill out an adoption application. This will allow us a chance to help guide you in making a well informed decision. Home checks may be required prior to approval and renters must provide written approval from landlord. It is suggested that all family members, including pets, interact with the shelter animal prior to adoption. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption at any time. All of our pets are spayed or neutered, current on all their vaccinations, and micro-chipped. The suggested adoption donation is $100-200.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
