Areas Key Largo Animal Shelter serves

Humane Animal Care Coalition is a non profit animal organization contracting for Monroe County at the Key Largo Animal Shelter. We provide animal care to all Upper Keys homeless animals. We perform all Animal Service functions from milemarker 70- 115 and Ocean Reef. We also have a free spay and neuter program for Upper Keys citizens in need.

All animals for adoption are located at The Key Largo Animal Shelter 105951 Overseas Highway Key Largo, Florida 33037. Our telephone number is 305-451-0088.

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-6pm & Sat 9am-3pm

Once we have made a match to an adopter, the adoption contract is completed, the animal is spayed or neutered before going to their new home. The Monroe County fee is $10.00.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
