Ohio Toy Breed Rescue adopts to Ohio and surrounding states. We do not ship our dogs, adopters must be willing to come to Ohio to meet with one of our volunteers.

About Our Rescue Group:

We are a group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing, rehoming, and rehabilitating dogs and puppies who come from kill shelters, puppy mills, and owners who can no longer keep their pets. All dogs are examined by our veterinarian,, given all necessary vaccines(distemper combination, rabies, bordatella), wormed, checked for heartworms, spayed or neutered and any other care recommended by our vet. We do not have a shelter, all dogs are fostered in our homes and loved by our foster families until a home is found.

Come Meet our Pets:

Meetings are set up with adopters after applications are approved!

Our Adoption Process:

Please email for an adoption application. Applications will be reviewed, references checked, and an interview will be done prior to adoption. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Adoption fees vary according to age, sex, breed, and expenses. Once an application is approved, the foster families set up a meeting with potential adopters.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
