About Our Rescue Group

shaggy dog rescue is a 501 (3) (c) non profit organization that rescues shaggy dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds,mainly mixed mutts from the local shelters, most of the dogs we take in need vet care, spay,neuter.heartworm treatment,micro-chipping, vaccinations and more, once the vet feels that the dog is in good health we then work on socializing them in with other dogs , so that we can guage their personalities and know their traits, that way we can work on finding the perfect new home for them
many of the dogs undergo training at rover oaks doggie day care and some actually go into their day care program.

we do require an online application be submitted at

we require a $ 150.00 adoption fee

all applications are screened and we try and match you with a suitable dog if approved

When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
