We serve mainly Fresno and Clovis, but have visitors from all surrounding cities and counties too.

About Our Rescue Group:

For the Sake of the Dogs rescues dogs of all shapes and sizes, but we especially love the cattle dogs (border collies, queensland heelers, etc.)!

We are supported solely through donations and volunteer helpers.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are at the Clovis, CA Petsmart on Herndon & Willow on Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays 10-3.

Our Adoption Process:

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please lets us know (if you are inquiring via email, please include a phone number where you can be reached) and we will bring him/her out to Petsmart for you to meet. We are at Petsmart on Herndon/Willow on Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays 10-3.

All dogs adopted from "For the Sake of the Dogs" are spay/neutered, and have received vaccines. Adoption fees start at $200. If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider a donation.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
