We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties: We are a small rescue and adoption group based in New York City serving all boros. We started in August 2009. A Tail at a Time was created to concentrate on getting abandoned pets into new loving homes. We take animals from the city's kill shelter and the streets. We are volunteer run and hope to have non-profit status within the year.
A TAIL AT A TIME, PET ADOPTION AND RESCUE
About Our Rescue Group
We started our group in August 2009 to concentrate on getting abandoned pets into new loving homes. We take animals from the city's kill shelter and the streets. We are volunteer run and hope to have non-profit status within the year. We concentrate on community outreach regarding spay/neuter education and programs. We are looking for volunteers to clean and socialize/visit with the cats that are in our shelter locations. We also are in need of fosters. Our ultimate goal is for no animal to live on the streets and to make NYC a no-kill city by 2015.

Our Adoption Process
Kittens under 1 year old must be adopted with another cat or kitten unless there is one in the home already or a cat friendly dog. An adoption application must be filled out. Adoption fee is 125.00 which includes first 2 vaccinations, microchip, testing for fiv-felv which we only have negative cats unless you are told otherwise, and spay-neuter. We request that you attend our adoption seminar which is about 50 minutes of useful and current pet information. We do home delivery. Fostering to adopt is an option.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
