Everyone must complete an adoption application, then we conduct a phone interview. If we like the adoption application and feel the phone interview went well, then we will set up a home visit. Once that has been completed, then we place a pug in their home. We require all pets in the house hold be current on heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered.

I am the adoption coordinator for HWB Pug Rescue. I process all the applications that come in and make sure that all applicants are contacted in some form or fashion. And make sure that all applicants are contacted in a timely manner and make sure everything is followed through. Our organization rescues pugs either from the shelter, found as strays or relinquished by owners for various reasons. Our purpose is to find good and loving homes for these pugs and give them a better life then which they came from. Sometimes we are strict on ur adoption process, but we want to ensure that the pugs are going to good homes.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
