Tri-County Animal Rescue volunteers bring you over thirty-five years of
dedication to the welfare of animals. You can be sure that any rescued animal you
adopt from TCAR has received the loving care and handling they need and deserve by their fosters. TCAR is a 501 3c non profit status, totally volunteered based organization formed by a group of individuals striving to make a difference in the world of abandoned, homeless, neglected pets in November of 2005.
Our volunteers are available to talk to you in all areas of animal care, nutrition and behavior needed when adopting a rescued animal from us for your home. We believe in giving you as much information as we have available about your new pet along with providing you a healthy new family member. This along with patience and positive reinforcement will increase the bond between you and your pet, allowing for a rich, long lasting relationship you both deserve. Training with positive reinforcement and patient instruction helps you to become a better pet owner and your pet become a better companion, a loving member of the family and a welcome member of society.
TCAR is made up of a wide variety of volunteers, Liz Curtis-Taylor and her husband Terry Taylor & Jenny Houge (Founders) that has been doing animal rescue for numerous years along with Robert Miller, Lisa Lynne Blalock, Nicole Powell, Audree Powell, Brian Young of Prize Fight Promotions, Russ Young, Angie and Tara Cook, Trisha and Christina Pratt, Lisa, Paul and Adam and Noah Wielder, Dr. Reena Greer, Mary, April Barnett, Marcus Thompson, Christy Allen, Dr. Julia Rickett, Open Arms Animal Hospital, All Animal Pet Hospital just to name a few.

We keep never turn down any bottle babies. We keep Esbilac stocked in our home and we have an area with kennels and heating pads, etc.
Also, Richard Clark, Certified through West Virginia Canine College as a Master Trainer who has been training all breeds of dogs for over fifteen years. He has experience-training canines in fields of tracking, personal protection conformation, obedience competition and general obedience for the pet dog.
All our rescued animals are fostered in our volunteer homes to help
provide you with hands on knowledge of your new pets traits, while at the same
time providing your new pet the tender loving care and comforts they will enjoy
in their new home. We do everything possible to provide them the joy and
security of being at home while socializing them with our families and pets.

Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
