Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

All the Coachella valley, Riverside county. But we have been known to branch out to help with the closing of puppy mells. We always offer our shelter and staff for any desasters. We are on record with the red cross to help with any desaster. We have been known on more then one occation to be the first to respond.

About Our Shelter:

We are a no kill animal shelter. We run off of donations. Our founder is Mary Sydnes she begain Save-A-Pet 27 years ago. She begain by saving cans and selling used goods. She ran a thrift store for meny meny years. In the past 27 years we have come along way from the time when Mary would rescue animals spay/nuterthem fix what ever issues they had. Then she would pay to board them. Then after raising enough money she bought property to open the shelter. It ran as a rescue shelter form 84/09. We help as meny animals as possibule. Under our new director his 10 year goal back 2006 was to open a vet clinic on sight. And in dec 2009 that will come true 7 years soner then forseen. It will be a state of the art full service vet clinic. Low cost full vet services open to the public. We will hold low cost shot clincs as well as spay/nuter clinics. We have also opened a education center. There we have miniture horse pot belly pigs goats

Come Meet our Pets:

We are in Desert Hot Springs. Off of Bubbling wells. Our hours are wed to sun from noon to four. Starting in January we will be open 7 days a week from noon to five and our summer hours are noon to seven. Our full service vet clinic will be open Thur. to sun. from 8 to 5.
We particapate in addoption centers and the local pet co and pet smarts.

Our Adoption Process:

our fees ar $95 senior animals over 5 years of age are $55
For all aproved military families addoptions are at no charge. We Have cats and dogs. We get birds in from time to time. There are some animals that come in that need exstinsive care to get ready for addoption. We always spay/nutter micro chip and vacanate but some come in needing much more. Like dentals and special vet care. So there may be a animal that we would hope to get more for so for those we ask $300.00. Thankfuly those are not as often as are $95.00 fee.
We do require fenced yards for dogs and that cats are keeped as inside cats. We have a 5 page contract, in that we do state that obedance traning is highly suggested.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
