WE VOLUNTEER OUR SERVICES BY USING THE SHELTER CONNECTIONS WE HAVE TO SAVE HIGH KILL SHELTER DOGS AND COORDINATE GETTING YOUR RESCUED DOG TO YOU SAFELY AS WELL AS ENSURING PROPER DESCRIPTIONS OF ALL BEHAVIORS OF THE DOGS LISTED ON OUR SITE. ALL DOGS ARE SAVED BASED ON TEMPERAMENT ONLY. WE SPECIALIZE IN PLACING THE RIGHT DOG TO THE RIGHT FAMILY SO IT'S A FOREVER MATCH!

We offer a full back-up foster program for all of our partner rescues outside of New England. This means that if you adopt a dog from any of the shelters in the south that list dogs on our site and it doesn't work out, we will place your dog in a more suitable home for you and/or offer training advice, fostering and veterinary recommendations!

About Our Rescue Group:

We are a rescue referral service, which means that we help other rescues advertise and screen to place dogs and get them to safe areas of the country. Please refer to the rescue information on each posting to speak directly with the caretaker for that dog or call us anytime!

The wonderful dogs listed on our site are fostered in New England or still in the south in foster homes awaiting arrival to various areas of New England.

Our Adoption Process:

We screen all applicants through an application that can be found on our website, www.petfinder.com/shelters/ME97.html

Our adoption fee varies, but is typically $275-$350 (including transport to New England) depending on their vet charges.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
