A New Leash On Life
About Our Rescue Group
A New Leash On Life is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from high kill shelters in and around Michigan. We rely on a network of fosters to care for 'unwanted' companion animals until they can be placed in loving, permanent homes.
Come Meet our Pets
All of our rescues are cared for in foster homes until we can find them a permanent home. We hold adoption events on a regular basis to provide you with the opportunity to meet our available companions. If you are approved to adopt, we may be able to make arrangements for you to meet the rescue outside of the adoption events based on the foster families schedule.
Most of our adoption events take place at the Petco in Troy (located off Coolidge, just south of Maple). Please visit our website for a list of upcoming events!
Our Adoption Process
To adopt a rescue from A New Leash On Life, we require that you complete an adoption application. We make every attempt to review applications and respond within 24 hours. However, we are all volunteers with busy schedules so please be patient with us! You are always welcome to follow up to any inquries or applications submitted.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and you'll
have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting
a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats
for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs
and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of
dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed
is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten
breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat
or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt
a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane
society or pet rescue group.
