German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of Michigan
About Our Rescue Group
Who We Are: The German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of Michigan has placed many dogs into wonderful homes. We have been involved with German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue for 28 years. We are dedicated to helping those German Shorthaired Pointers in need of a second chance, in Michigan and other surrounding states. ALL of the German Shorthaired Pointer's adopted through this organization are temperament tested, vaccinated, health checked, heartworm tested, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and socialized. We have dogs of both sexes and of all ages. Some of them hunt, some of them are couch potatoes, but all of them are ready to love and be loved. We have German Shorthaired Pointer's ready to fit into any home or environment, IF you pass the adoption criteria. Our Rescue Organization is located in Montrose, Michigan. We are a 501-c3 Non-Profit Organization, registered with the State of Michigan. Please, contact us if you are interested in any of the dogs. ALL RESCUE DOGS ARE TO BE HOUSE DOGS ONLY, FENCED YARD, OR INVISIBLE FENCE MANDATORY. HOME VISITS AND VET REFERENCES ARE ALSO DONE.
Come Meet our Pets
You may come meet our dogs by appointment only as all of them are fostered at our home unless it states that they are a "Courtesy listing" for a shelter.
Our Adoption Process
First and adoption application must be filled out, which includes 3 personal references, a vet reference. We do home visits, fenced yards are mandatory, invisible fence is allowed, but not for all dogs.
Dog adoption and cat
adoption saves lives. Adopt
a dog or adopt a cat and
you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog
or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes.
Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they
think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from
a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage
people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA,
humane society or pet rescue group.
