Areas Hops and Lops Tennessee Rabbit Rescue serves

Hops and Lops Tennessee Rabbit Rescue (HLTRR) is a not for profit Rabbit Rescue based out of Knoxville, TN, that serves all of East TN, and parts of Middle/West TN, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA, and AL. We are a shelter friendly rescue, but do take owner surrenders from time to time when we have room. We, also, offer low cost spaying and neutering for current rabbit owners.

We do offer rabbit care workshop and classes free of charge to the public and shelters that are willing to learn. We, also, can provide rabbit care paper work for current or future owners, and paper work (adoption forms, contracts, surrender forms, etc.) for shelters that currently take in surrendered rabbits. We have done a few educational events at birthday parties, church events, schools, and "bunny meet-ups," and wouldn't mind a few more!

All adopted rabbits will be spayed/neutered, current on worms, flea prevention, and all other vetting that is needed.

Additional adoption info

Our fees are normally $125 for Females and $100 for Males, this is payed directly to our Vet's Clinic to cover spay/neuter. All other vetting is provided by HLTRR. Sometimes, if a rabbit comes to the rescue already fixed or is sponsored, the fee is waived or reduced, depending on other needed vetting.

We do require an adoption form, contract, references (Vet and Personal), and a home visit.

All rabbits are house in the rescue as house rabbits that are litter trained. We do require all adoptive homes commit to continue the same, indoor only, housing.

About Hops and Lops Tennessee Rabbit Rescue

We are a private/foster home based Rabbit Rescue that strives to make the world a better place for pet rabbits. Rabbits are very common pets, but most people don't do their research before getting a pet rabbit. We are hoping to educate the public about how great house rabbits are.

We, also, are promoting spaying and neutering of all rabbits (Ask us about low cost spaying and neutering for rabbits)!

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
