About Our Rescue Group:

Whisker Rescue is a non-profit charitable organization (#85142 3426 RR0001) located in Red Deer, Alberta, that strives to provide basic needs such as shelter, food, medical attention, and adoption opportunities to stray, homeless & surrendered cats in our care. We are a no-kill organization that relies on volunteers to give every cat that enters our adoption program the time, patience, love and cuddles they need until their forever homes can be found. Come Meet our Pets:

Our cats can be visited and adopted through the Deer Park Pet Hospital at 420-Allan Street, Piper Creek Veterinary Hospital at #1-166-37428 Range Road 273 or our Whisker Rescue Adoption room located in the All In One Pet Care Facility at 4831-53rd Street, and at PetSmart located in Red Deer at 5001-19th Street, and in Edmonton at 3289 Calgary Trail.

Our Adoption Process:

Each cat is vet checked, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV viruses, vaccinated, de-wormed, spayed or neutered, and tattooed or micro-chipped. The adoption fee is $125, and cats 8 years and older are $65. We have an adoption questionare (that asks basic information about the household) and require the owners to return the cat(s) to Whisker Rescue if they are no longer able to care for them.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
