Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We serve Alameda County, San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California Counties.

About Our Rescue Group:

We are a small group of volunteers whose mission is to save abandoned, neglected and/or abused animals by placing them into permanent, safe, stable and caring new homes. All of us have experience with volunteering in shelters and continue to volunteer.

We do not mind driving to do a home visit nor do we mind taking the time to go anywhere to look at a potential needy animal who needs to be saved from any situation, either in a shelter or in a home. We do take owner surrenders and have an owner assist program but most of our animals come from shelters.

We hate to see any animal suffer and this is why we do this.

Our Adoption Process:

Our process to adopt is as follows: An application form is completed and submitted at which time we will contact the applicant within 24 hours and discuss the animal they are interested in and make an appointment to meet or give them the date of the next adoption showcase. The entire family should meet along with any resident animals, if possible. Once that is done and it seems like a good fit, a home visit is required at which time we can leave the animal for a required sleepover period of approximately 10-14 days and a Sleepover Agreement is then signed; if that works out then we can proceed with adoption. Our adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $100 for cats, $300 for puppies under one year of age and $50 is refunded upon receipt of a Certificate of Completion of Training from a certified training facility/trainer for a puppy adoption. At any given time after the adoption, Dusty Paws Rescue will accept back into our program the adopted animal if it doesn't work out.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box
