The Cornelius Animal Shelter is a dual purpose facility, with Animal Control leadership, Volunteer devotion; we've given our animals a great place to visit, and a opportunity to find a loving home.

The Cornelius Animal Shelter is located 19110 Meridian St, Cornelius, North Carolina. The shelter is open 11am-1pm, then 5pm-7pm during weekdays. 9am-12pm on Saturday.

Adoption Applicants are reviewed, once passed, there is a $85-$95 adoption fee. Once the fee has been collected, the animal is transferred to North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital for a final wellness check and spay/neuter.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
