About Our Rescue Group:

Adopt Rescue Dogs/Legacy Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization. It is our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome lost and abandoned dogs, and to help low-income families to care for their pets. We provide veterinary care, including immunizations, micro-chipping, and spay or neuter procedures, and every dog is fed high quality food and given monthly preventive medications for heartworm and fleas and ticks. It is our goal to prepare each dog for a new and loving home with you.
We have also started a new program to provide needy residents of San Jacinto County Texas, with low-cost spay and neuter procedures for their pets, in the hopes of preventing the births of unwanted puppies and kittens.

Come Meet our Pets:

You are welcome to come visit the dogs at the ranch. We ask that you contact us first to arrange a time, as we run a pretty busy daily schedule. Also, we conduct adoption events at area stores. 3rd Saturdays we are at the Tractor Supply store in Huntsville, Texas, located on Veterans Memorial Pkwy., next door to Home Depot. Come see us! We would love to meet you! The Tractor Supply store also offers reduced fee immunizations and micro-chipping every 3rd Saturday!

Our Adoption Process:

We require an application, and will take it over the phone for your convenience. After reviewing the application with you, we will arrange a time for you to meet your selected pet. If your meet and greet goes well, and you choose to adopt, there is a contract to sign, assuring that all requirements for care can be met. There is also a $150 adoption fee to help cover the cost of the vet care already provided to every dog. Each pet will be up to date with immunizations, will be spayed or neutered, and will have a microchip inserted for identification purposes.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
