Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We help to save dogs that are not doing so well in other shelters. The dogs we help come from all over New England and the country.

About Our Rescue Group:

Another Tail to Tell has had the privilege to work with some of the best humane and rescue organizations in the Northeast to find dogs new homes. Dogs may come to us for a variety of reasons; they did not do well in a shelter environment; they have a behavior problem that requires work; or they come from a difficult background that may require special placement. Wherever they may have come from, they are all special and deserve great homes. All of our “shelter pups” have had a thorough behavior evaluation, a complete training program and come with all the follow up services offered to any of our clients.

The adoption fee for each pet is determined by the resources that have been used to get each dog ready for a new home. All dogs have had health examinations, are neutered and current on all vaccinations.

We request that you call or email us to inquire about any dog that you are interested in so we can talk about suitability for your home. We want it to be a good match for both sides. Please make an appointment to visit any dog. We ask that you visit your prospective new family member, make a decision and then return to have a complete training lesson. We spend a lot of time with our adoptive families to help ensure a successful placement.

We stand behind our adoptions and you are always welcome to call for advice. In the rare occasion that it doesn’t work out, the dog is always welcome back at our facility.

Our Adoption Process:

If there is a dog that catches your eye let us know. We will talk to you to see what your lifestyle is like and which dog best matches it. Once we decide who is best for you, you can come for a visit. You meet the dog and get to know them. Then you go home and think about it, it can be a big decision. You can call the next day to tell us what you decide. From there we schedule when you can come and get your new best friend.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
