Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

C.A.R.E. adopts out pets in the greater St. Louis area.

About Our Shelter:

C.A.R.E. is a volunteer run shelter in Washington county, MO. We strive to provide the best health and mental care possible to our animals while they are at the shelter. The animals stay as long as it takes to find a home that best suites each one of their needs.

Most of our animals are owner give ups, pulled from local animal control, or are strays from the area. We are in a large rural area that has only a small animal control to house animals dropped off from the general public so we try to work with individuals needing to rehome their pets.

Come Meet our Pets:

We adopt out from our shelter by appointment. If you see an animal on our website, please give us a call and we will make arrangements for you to see it.
We also adopt out at Petsmart in Manchester, MO on Sundays from 11-3. Please check our website for other locations or give us a call.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip and current shots. We require a contract to be signed stating the dog/cat must be returned to C.A.R.E. if the adoption should not work out.

Our Adopted Pets:

We have helped lots of pets connect with loving and caring owners. Check out our adopted pets list!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
