About Our Shelter:

We are a small county shelter with a big heart trying our best to do what is right for the animals of our county to ensure their health and welfare.
Our ultimate goal is that no healthy happy adoptable animal need be euthanized due to a lack of space and time.
There is someone for everyone!!! We want to put the faces of our animals in every available arena of media to ensure them a chance at a new life with a forever owner and home!

Come Meet our Pets:

We encourage anyone to visit our shelter and our animals! Our shelter is open Mon,Tues, Thurs, Fri. from 8-5. The best time to come and meet and greet our adoptable animals is between 12-4:00 p.m. This is usually the calmest time of our day.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption process is quite easy. We require you be 18 years of age and have a valid drivers license or similar identification.
Our adoption fee is fiffteen dollars and fifty dollar deposit for spay/neuter. Upon providing us proof within 30 days of spay/neuter the county finance dept. will refund the fifty dollars.
It is encouraged to license your new pet for 3.00 if you live within Bedford County to ensure the animal's safety.
There is a minimal amount amount of paper work we accept cash or checks only and your new pet will leave with you that day.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
