About Our Rescue Group:

Companion Pet Rescue was formed in 2004 to assist with rehoming the unwanted dogs and pups in the West TN area. Since that time, we've rehomed more than 20,000 dogs and pups.....dogs and pups that without our intervention would have certainly died or been put to death.
We now assist unwanted pups and dogs in West TN but we also work with shelters and rescues in AR, MS, LA and TX....helping them to help their dogs. All of our pups and dogs have very interesting and sad stories to tell about their beginnings.
To see lots of great pictures from former adopters, check us out on Facebook at You'll also find alot of great info about us on our website at All of the pups and dogs and families on our website are former adopters with their new pups.

Come Meet our Pets:

Join us March 1 at PetSense in Westbrook CT! We'll be on site from 10-2 with LOTS of awesome rescue pups hoping to find their forever homes. All of the pups posted on our website are available for adoption prior to the event. If your heart is set on a particular pup, we would encourage you to pursue the adoption and finalize. That is the only way we can guarantee that you'll get the pup that your heart is set on.
Pre-approved applicants will also have the opportunity to visit our adoption center in Southbury where alot of our pups can be met and adopted prior to the event.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. After receipt of your application an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email

~We don't guarantee which pups will be at the event because they are all available for direct adoption prior to the event. If your heart is set on a specific pup, direct adoption is always the best way to go. The only way to guarantee adoption of a specific puppy is to do so prior to the pup's arrival. To apply for pre-approval for the event OR to apply for a specific puppy, please go to and complete our application. At events, to be fair to all adopters, we can't "hold" pups and must operate on a first come (and approved), first served method. In other words, the first approved adopter to show up at the event and pay the fee is the adopter that gets the puppy. Additionally, we can't "babysit" pups at the event so please be prepared to take your pup home with you at the time you finalize the adoption.~

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
