Pets at Our Rescue Group:

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We adopt to anywhere, but you must be able to pick pet up in person. We only rehome pets that are returned from previous adoptions.

About Our Rescue Group:

RAEI is NOT a shelter! (Rose & Ryan now ONLY help rehome any "returned" pets).

***RAEI has CLOSED it’s public rescuing**

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to close our doors. Due to cost, stress, time, and city code we cannot run the rescue the way that we want to, at our BEST!!

Due to a variety (time, cost, city code, etc.) of reasons RAEI has decided to seize operations until our life allows us to run the rescue the way it needs to be ran and the way we want to run it. We do not have the funds, support/volunteers, or facilities to save animals the way they need to be and that we want to.

I have realized that although I am a hero to many animals and a few people, I am not a super hero and I cannot let myself or others expect me to do more than I am capable of. I am a rescuer not a miracle worker.

Thank you for your support.

Our Mission . . .

It is the mission of Rehoming Agency of Eastern Iowa to assist pet owners in finding new, responsible, forever homes for their pets. RAEI commits to that pet for the rest of its life, no matter how many days, months, or years down the road it is we will always make sure that pet has a good life and does not end up in a shelter or tied outside one a chain.

What we do . . .

RAEI assists current pet owners in finding new pet owners by:
*Making sure the pet is UTD on all vaccines (if not UTD/spayed/neutered RAEI does all needed vetting for a fee, up to $100)
*Making sure pet is spayed/neutered
*Posting/advertising the pet online and on flyers
*Screening any applicants
-Vet reference
-Background check
-Home owner/landlord check
*Acquiring health Certificates for any animal going over state lines
*Can also handle the actual adoption if requested
*Follows up after adoption to make sure things are going smooth and to offer advice if needed
*Rose & Ryan will be available forever if an animal needs to be re-homed again.

“We are NOT a shelter! We are ONLY a re-homing agency. Due to city zoning we CANNOT take in any animals.”

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
