About Our Rescue Group:

We at 4 Paws Society are a rescue organization. We rehabilitate and rehome abandoned animals in Southwest Louisiana. We try to promote anti-cruelty, anti-abuse and no neglect of animals in our community. We also encourage spay and neuter programs that reduce animal overpopulation. Our goal is to ultimately achieve a "No Kill" community through educating, inspiring and collaborating with others to end euthanasia as a means of animal control. We do all of these things because we care about animal welfare and want to be a part of making the changes necessary to accomplish this.

Come Meet our Pets:

We have adoption events 2 times per month at Petco in Lake Charles, LA. We also have various other events to promote adoption and find homes for our rescues. We post these events on our website @ 4PawsSocietyInc.com and on Facebook at 4 Paws Society, Inc. We also collaborate with 4 Paws on the Bayou located at 465 Hardy Rd., Sulphur, LA 70665. We have dogs available for adoption there 6 days per week on Monday-Saturday from 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Our Adoption Process:

We do an Adoption Application, Vet References, and Home Visits. If the adopters live outside of our area we do what we call a "virtual home" visit. The potential adopters send us pictures of their home and yard area, then we do a Home Visit questionnaire with them on the phone. There is also an Adoption Contract done at the time of the adoption.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
