About Our Rescue Group:

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet our Pets:

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every weekend and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process:

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $125 to $150. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit. Upon approval, the adopter will need to sign an adoption agreement.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog or puppy versus getting dogs for sale or puppies for sale from a dog breeder? When someone is breeding puppies, they are creating new dogs who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog or puppy and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale from a puppy breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
