About Our Shelter:

The Comfie Cat Shelter is a no-kill shelter founded in 2005 to address the issue of the over population of abandoned cats. The shelter was established because the number of cats being abandoned or neglected is increasing every year.
The members/volunteers of The Comfie Cat Shelter believe in helping cats in need. Cats that have been rescued or accepted from people who are no longer able to care for them are given veterinary care and medications when required. With the exception of young kittens, they are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Adoptions are by appointment only, arranged by emailing

The Mandate of The Comfie Cat Shelter organization is to help cats in need. This includes unwanted, stray and abandoned cats. These lost, starving, often sick and sometimes even tortured animals survive as best they can in dumpsters and doorways. Hidden from view, their life is one of hardship and suffering. As volunteers, we try to help as many of these unfortunate cats as we can.

Our Adoption Process:

Our adoption fees:
$125.00 – For kittens/cats up to one year old. They will have their first vaccinations. If not yet old enough to be spayed/neutered, $50 will be refunded upon providing a spay/neuter certificate from your veterinarian.

$75.00 – For cats one to six years old who are spayed/neutered and up-to-date with their vaccinations.

$50.00 – For cats seven years and older who are spayed/neutered and up-to-date with their vaccinations.

In addition to the above, we have a "senior to senior" program. Seniors may apply to adopt a senior cat (7 years of age or older), and if approved, will receive the cat free of charge.

Please contact us at with the name of the cat/kitten that you are interested in and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
